Fearless Beauty was launched in 2014 with a desire to help young women in India transform their lives through the power of beauty. The program instilled a passion for success through mentorship and provided participants with the tools to earn a sustainable and fulfilling livelihood.
Of the 29 women in our flagship program, 23 graduated and seven have earned income in the beauty industry as a result of the program. Another four found jobs outside of the beauty industry as a result of the confidence and customer service skills gained during Fearless Beauty training. Graduates of the flagship program in India are now sharing their knowledge and teaching the skills to other women in their community.
Fearless Beauty accomplished its mission in Rishikesh, and pivoted in 2017 to bring the program to justice-involved women in the United States. After working closely with staff at the Rikers Island Rose M. Singer Center (RMSC), we received funding from the New York City Department of Corrections and launched the pilot program in January 2018.
Now in 2020, we are partnering up with the Women’s Prison Association to support women who were previously incarcerated or are at risk of incarceration through our 3 month training and mentorship program.
